Everybody talks about diamonds but to many people doesn’t know what a diamond is, with this you can start to know the complexity of the diamonds a why is one of the most expensive minerals in the world, we used diamonds in too many applications because they have unusual properties that you can see in this blog.

Diamonds are a form in which carbon atoms are organized in such a way that a crystalline structure is formed that allows the passage of light rays, this carbon structure forms cubic crystals in its form of atomic packing which gives it specific properties such as hardness, being the most resistant material to be scratched on the hardness scale, this structure also gives it thermal and electrical properties that no other material has in nature.

The color
Diamonds are described in different types of shades that are described by letters that are:

D, E, F: they do not present any type of apparent coloration.
G, H, I, J: they present some type of slight yellow coloration.
K, L, M: Light yellow or brown coloration.

The Clarity

The GIA clarity scale spans from Flawless (FL) to included (I) having internally flawless (IF), very, very slightly included (VVS), very slightly included (VS) and slightly included (SI) in between. Impurities in natural diamonds are due to the presence of natural minerals and oxides.
